In mid-March the snow keeps spitting in the air, not really snowfall not really something that makes winter fun. I love a good winter snow, bundling up to roam out in the white, returning home with red cheeks to warm up with hot cocoa and a warm fire. But Winter in March is generally ugly and not very fun, so when the opportunity arose to jump on a flight to the sunny Florida Keys I was more than ready. As a freelance photographer it is often hard to make that choice to take a week off. The freedom to work for yourself is wonderful but being your own boss can sometime make it hard to justify taking a week off with no pay to spend money. However, I encourage all of you who find yourself self-employed to reconsider the opinion that time off is not time well spent. For those of us in the creative field I find the change of location and temperature is vital for refueling. A great vacation can also be a wonderful place to take some awesome photos. I felt inspired by the wildlife and sunsets of the keys. So, of course, I had to take a few photos.

You didn’t think I’d leave the camera at home….
